My Journey to LKW Tutoring
Hello, I'm Laura, the founder of LKW Tutoring. From a young age, teaching has been my calling. This page shares my path to becoming a qualified teacher and starting LKW Tutoring.
Where it all started...
My passion for teaching was ignited during my childhood when I would line up my dolls and take a register for my 'class'
The idea of imparting knowledge and witnessing those illuminating "lightbulb" moments inspired me, convincing me that teaching was the ideal career path.
After completing my A-Levels at college I chose to take a gap year to gain hands-on experience working with children by volunteering at local primary schools.

Further Education...
I began university in 2017 and throughout my three years there, I participated in three diverse placements: my first was in a Year 4 classroom, followed by an EYFS classroom for my second, and finally, I experienced a Year 2 classroom for my third placement. I thoroughly enjoyed each of these experiences, and my school-based mentors confidently labeled me as an "outstanding teacher."
My Life After University...
After graduating from university, I secured a position as a Teaching Assistant in a Year 2 classroom. During my second year at the school, I was given the opportunity to cover for a staff member who was absent for a few months. It was an incredible experience! I formed meaningful connections with the students and discovered my passion for teaching.
When the teacher returned, I transitioned into a maternity leave position in a Year 1 class. I enjoyed this role for two years before embarking on my own journey into motherhood.
Currently ...
I’ve discovered an effective approach to balancing motherhood with my teaching responsibilities and private tutoring, allowing me to stay deeply connected to my passion for education.
